Each admissions season, we take great pleasure in meeting kids who love math and the families who nurture them.

Our admissions process is designed to help families and the school get to know each other.

Ultimately, our goal is for every student to spend their secondary school years at a school where they can feel right at home, thrive, and become their best selves during this formative time.

Families can become acquainted with the school through reading our website, attending an admissions open house, or attending a parent coffee. To help us get to know prospective students and their families, we ask that families submit a student questionnaire, parent questionnaire, two teacher recommendations, and a school transcript.

All applicants come for a school visit day to experience Proof School firsthand. During this day, we also set aside time to administer our in-house math assessments and an informal, one-on-one interview. Applications for the 2020-21 school year are due on January 9, 2020.

Welcome to Proof School! We look forward to getting to know you and your family.

Who should apply?

Our students genuinely love math, learning across the curriculum, and working with like-minded peers.

They are persistent with projects and problems that are challenging and inspiring. They are demonstrably eager to engage in both mathematics and other areas, from art to laboratory sciences to history and literature. Our students are curious and kind, and they genuinely enjoy collaborating with others.

Our students relish the opportunity to spend two hours on math in school every day. Our math curriculum ranges from courses accessible to any sixth grader enthusiastic about math to courses that would be challenging even for an undergraduate math major. All classes stress depth and investigation over speed and acceleration.

We accept applications for entry into 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grades, and particularly encourage applications from students of diverse backgrounds. Students should be 11 years old by August 31 of the year they enter Proof School.

We strive to put Proof School within financial reach for every admitted student.

We have a robust financial assistance program to meet calculated need.

This year, our families received financial assistance that covers up to 99% of tuition. Our goal is to help every qualifying, admitted student to be able to enroll at Proof School. We do not offer merit-based scholarships, and there is no fee to apply to Proof School.

Tuition is set annually by the Board of Directors in the spring, and reflects our investment in world-class faculty. Proof School is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). We use data submitted by families to the NAIS School and Student Services (SSS) as a baseline for determining assistance awards.
