Social & emotional learning prepares each student to thrive in school and in our school community.
Kids need life skills not only to navigate the world but also to better understand what they're learning.
We offer a robust curriculum that takes advantage of our unique block system. Our workshops move from the individual to the world, as we practice compassion for ourselves, for each other, and for the broader community.
We also integrate social and emotional learning into our academic courses. We train faculty to look for moments in the classroom that help students gain insight into their motivations and negotiate their differences. Our aim is to learn how to engage one another in discussion, to speak to one another with confidence, and to listen to one another with open minds.
Our identity comes from our community, and building that community of problem solvers, of makers and doers, of researchers and practitioners, is only possible when everyone learns socially and emotionally.
