Mira Bernstein is the Executive Director of Canada/USA Mathcamp, an international summer program for high-school students interested in mathematics.
In her 16 years at Mathcamp (11 as director), she has been a teacher and mentor to hundreds of exceptional students, while also setting the overall mathematical (and non-mathematical) vision for the program as a whole.
After a postdoc at UC Berkeley, she taught for several years at Wellesley College and then switched to a career in applied mathematics and statistics. Most recently, she was an investigator on the Oregon Health Study, a landmark study in health economics at the National Bureau of Economic Research.
